growth in direct subscriptions
A small Norwegian publisher of essays and translated fiction, repositioned for readers who buy one good book a month.
Halde had forty years of excellent books and almost no recognisable face. Covers changed with every designer, and so did the voice of the catalogue.
We wrote a single sentence the whole house could agree on, then built a cover system that gives each book its own image while the typography stays constant.
The result is a shelf that reads as one publisher from across a room, and a monthly subscription that now outsells the bookshop channel.
