The story
12 rooms
one voice across two languages
A twelve-room hotel in Príncipe Real that asked us to make quiet feel luxurious, in Portuguese and in English.
Small hotels often borrow the vocabulary of large ones. Solstrand wanted the opposite: a voice that sounds like the owner leaving you a note.
We wrote the tone of voice in both languages at once, so neither reads as a translation. Room cards, menus and the website share one rhythm.
The identity is almost only typography: a warm serif, generous margins and the shadow of the courtyard palm, photographed at four in the afternoon.
